Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy characterized this particular event as an “absolutely wicked” act. Reports also indicated attacks in the Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, and Donetsk regions, underscoring the broad geographical scope of the recent hostilities.

Ukrainian air force statements via Telegram detailed a comprehensive assault involving ballistic, anti-ship, and anti-radar missiles, alongside over 200 Shahed drones. These attacks targeted 22 distinct locations, with remnants of downed missiles found at six sites. Russia's TASS news agency corroborated these reports, specifying that fuel, lubricants, and military equipment depots within Odesa's port were among the targets.
President Zelenskyy affirmed that the attacks on Odesa were aimed at the region's energy infrastructure, with repair efforts reportedly underway to restore power. The assaults caused damage to residential buildings and the port facilities, leading to injuries for at least eight individuals. Zelenskyy emphasized the broader implications of these strikes, stating, “This is, in particular, how Russia is systematically waging war against global food security,” referencing Odesa port's vital role in facilitating international grain exports.
